Yes you can use this TV for a vertical menu board. I have four of them installed in a vertical fashion. It is a little tricky but you will need to rotate the image on a computer or desktop first and then inject it into the TV via the USB port. Then you go into Media player and you hit the enter button and after that hit the play button and it will stay on the screen instead of disappearing.

Although, there are options in the settings to change the aspect ratio, it may not be applicable for other Apps giving you limited options. If you are planning to have a menu board display for your restaurant, I would highly suggest considering a monitor instead of a TV. Let us know if you need further assistance Have a great day! - James | Insignia Support | https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-55-class-f30-series-led-4k-uhd-smart-fire-tv/6450247.p?skuId=6450247
