Will it charge with phone in a "wallet style" case? null

I have my Edge in a wallet and it charges just fine on the wireless charger.

you shouldn't run into any issues but it will get hot on you. i had an otter box and i had to switch cases to use this

I have a heavy duty rubber case and it has no problem providing a charge.

My wife has a wallet case on her Sony Z3v phone and it charges fine.

It should. It works fine with an otterbox defender on my phone.

It charged from the case I had in it

I use a Samsung-brand portfolio case; it has a special window on the front for added features, and it works fine with this charger. I had such a case on my S6, and after consulting with a BB employee, bought the charger. It worked fine with the portfolio cover, and also my S7 Edge, also with a portfolio cover.. Be aware that it is slower than a direct-connect charger, but it is convenient to just place the phone on the charger, confirm, and go.

I have a Galaxy 6 in the Samsung wallet case... works great...

Yes, as long as there is no metal in the case to interfere.
