A:AnswerI also wanted an extra basket for the freezer. It was difficult to find a basket with the right dimensions from front to back of freezer. I ended up ordering the GE basket on Amazon and it was a little bit too short to fit front to back on the little area of the freezer that the original basket sits on so I just bent one end of the new basket out a little bit (without breaking the plastic covering the metal wire) and it works fine now. I did look in the booklet for parts but could not find the basket listed anywhere. Good luck and I'm really liking this freezer. Also, I discovered that Target has 2-1/2 gallon zippered bags and I bought some of those and put individual pieces of salmon in one of the large bags and that makes it easy to just lift that one bag out of the bottom of the freezer and I can take out one or two pieces of salmon, rezip the bag, and then put it back. Helps keep the freezer very organized and no searching for things. I believe the bags are Hefty brand. Good luck.
A:AnswerI live in San Jose and ours is in the garage. According to our research prior to buying, this freezer will do fine outside as long as it isn't exposed to extreme conditions, rain, or extreme moisture. You should be fine. Ours is working great and for an estimated $30 in yearly electricity costs, it is a great deal.
A:AnswerFrom the interweb: "A rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for each 35-40 pounds of cut and wrapped meat. Allow slightly more space when the meat is packaged in odd shapes."
So, in theory it should hold 200+ lbs. I would make sure the weight was distributed evenly as possible on the freezer floor. Those packages on the very bottom of the freezer should be fairly flat, to avoid denting the freezer floor.

A:AnswerIt’s a thin metal, definitely not plastic. The area around temp control is probably plastic and the backing that hides the power cord feels plastic
A:AnswerLet your freezer stand upright for approximately two hours before connecting
it to power. This reduces the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system
from incorrect handling of your freezer during transportation.
