“What is the min and max temperature of the room/area this freezer should be in? We live in moderate climate (San Francisco) and I want to put this on my deck under a tarp. It rarely gets below 35 and rarely over 80. Is this a horrible idea?”

I live in San Jose and ours is in the garage. According to our research prior to buying, this freezer will do fine outside as long as it isn't exposed to extreme conditions, rain, or extreme moisture. You should be fine. Ours is working great and for an estimated $30 in yearly electricity costs, it is a great deal.
