“There is black foam wedged around some parts in the motor compressor compartment of my new freezer. Also there is white tape in that section. Should that be left there or is it packing material? This freezer came with no cover over the compressor area.”

Do not modify the motor compressor area on your new freezer. This unit does not feature a cover over the compressor area and it is safe to use, it passed the UL test. David M. - Insignia Support
