Mostly the Cat 6 cable is used for internet connections or data transfers between two or more computers ie. network. I use my cable from my PC ethernet connection to the ethernet port on the wall (connects to my router). Connecting a monitor typically requires a HDMI, VGA, USB-C, or Display Port cable/connection. Most monitors use either HDMI or VGA connections with your upper tier monitors using Display Port or USB-C connections. It would be helpful to know what Insignia Monitor you have for further consideration. I hope this helps!
