“It seems like this extractor doesn't allow audio to be transmitted from a smart tv (only HDMI and optical ports) to an old receiver with only RCA ports because the extractor isn't HDMI arc? Is there another audio extractor that would solve this issue?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well unfortunately this was a solution recommended by the geek squad and it did not work for us. Sadly they are coming out yet again. We have a new tv new soundbar and yes now a new dvd player and still can not use headphones old or new. because of an optical ,rf, or arc issue you pick i cant remember anymore. I can write back once the issue is resolved but to date still no headphones. the dvd player was purchased because we couldnt get sound when watching movies after we bought the new soundbar. the headphones didnt work after the new dvd player. the new headphones didnt work with anything but were recommended. WE were told this was the solution. Good luck ps we also purchased a the optical adapter for the extractor since we were using optical ports yea didnt work either.
