Hello, thank you for the question. No, you cannot use this Insignia™ HDMI Audio Extractor to record from a Fire TV to a DVD player. Fire TV devices use HDCP copy protection, which prevents recording through HDMI. Even with an extractor, the signal will not pass to a DVD recorder for capturing.
