• Yes. You can control the volume. I can also change the channel when using the Spectrum app on the XBOX. Disclaimer: I only use the XBOX on my TV, all apps and everything I use are on the XBOX. This is a great little remote. I just popped the batteries in and it works, nothing else was needed.

• Yes, but you have to set up your xbox to control the sound of the tv first. That's done through the sound settings of the xbox.
