• If you have an iPhone, you must purchase products that fit your phone; the plug for Androids are different.

• We have not had a problem using this with any of our iPhones - 4 or 5. Could it be the case you have??

• You can only use Apple products on Apple devices and I am sorry to inform you that your charger most likely will not work on your device unless it is an Apple charger.

• Apple has something done to its chargers and it can recognized if it is Apple product or not. If it is not Apple product it will not work with iPhone or other Apple devices. They want you to buy Apple charger.

• This charger is for devises that have a micro usb. The iPhone 5 has a lightening connector, so you will need to find wall and car chargers that have a lightening connector.

• Insignia sometimes does not support it due to its volts. Certain brands sometimes can't charge due to how fast and how they are made. Also the wall charger may have a short in it.

• Iphone utilizes a proprietary connection which they call a "lightening charger" with IPhone units IPhone5 and later. A standard micro connector with this model Insignia won't work- You'll need to purchase a charger specific to your application.
