“Instructions say to use "drinking water" with this unit. Please define "drinking water" in the context of using this machine. Will regular tap water suffice or does the water need to be better filtered (IE using a Brita filter or bottled water).”

We recommend using filtered drinking water with this unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Using tap water can wildly vary depending on where you live. Some is potable and pretty safe, other places have water that is too toxic to drink. Consider that any impurities in the source water will be present in the cubes. We have decent tap water where this is primarily used but still put filtered water through the machine. It'll lower the chance of impurities creating mold or other toxic reactions in your ice maker. Manual recommends distilled water as well.
