“Is there a way to lower the volume of the startup and connection tones. I use my speaker in an office and my co-workers across the room can hear when my bluetooth has connected to my speaker. It's such a disruption that I may have to find another one.”

I do not believe there is. You can try placing the speaker to your leg in an attempt to mute or lower the sound. But there is no setting for it that I know of.

I don't think so! There's only one tone of the same volume for it.

There should be an option on your phone to disable the connection alert. Not sure what phone you have but google it and I bet you’ll find where to turn it off.
