• Pass through? The base has an optical cable port, so you can connect to your TV that way. If by pass through you are talking about using the Insignia between the TV source and external speakers, such as a sound bar, the answer to that is NO. The only pass through function is RCA cables in and out. I tried optical in and RCA out, but that did not work. So I purchased an Optical Cable splitter and that solved the problem of getting sound to my sound bar.
