• I bought them for my stepdad. They seem to work really good. Definitely loud enough for anyone in my opinion.

• Yes. I always mute my tv. Not sure how loud the volume goes on the headphones because I always use them just loud enough for me to hear properly. I suspect they go up pretty loud
