• Anna, I used my adapter to connect my router with Cat5e cable to a 2019 MacBook Pro with USB-C ports. I don't have a Chromebook, but if it has USB-C ports, this should work for you. I am getting a connection speed of 200 mbps, which is what we paid for, so I'm happy. It should handle up to 1 gbps, but you should use higher-spec cable than Cat5 if you have that fast a connection.
