How do I update the firmware of this speaker? null

Once you have set up the speaker using the google home app the firmware will automatically update. The time varies depending on internet speed but it took mine all of 2 minutes to update. You will get an audible notice telling you the firmware is updating, and the device will read "load" as this is being done.
