• If for some reason, your printer is not connected to the WiFi. HP Instant Ink will remind you that you need to reconnect so they know when to send you more ink before you need it.

• No you can turn it off. Every time it connects to internet, it will update itself. You do need it connected to the internet to be able to print though.

• That is what I read in the terms but I have turned off my printer on various occasions without any issues. I think if you turn off the printer and then print; the number of pages printed in your account won't be accurate immediately but does get updated pretty quickly. My printer goes into a sleep mode, so I leave my printer on most of the time.
