Yes, just as every other cooking appliance, you have to get used to it and adjust accordingly

Sure, whatever you may want to do that you can do in the "pot" or pan, you can use this for. Just not sure I would use it for something I can knock out quickly using something else. But, if I had a lot of soup, chilly, or something, sure this pot would work great. It will also keep food warm for up to 10 hours once its done cooking so that the food is ready when you want to eat it.
