• Hi JT23, the Intel Core i5 10400 10th Generation processor use a 400-Series Motherboard LGA1200 Socket; which provides more power to the processor. • No, it is incompatible if it worked with an older generation i5. The previous generation was suitable for LGA1151, 10th generation uses LGA 1200.

• It won't be compatible. 10k series runs on a new chipset.
