My Answer: Yes, this processor fits the LGA 1151 socket, the motherboard I paired it with is the MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon LGA 1151 (300 series), which has the LGA 1151 socket. If you have some of the older LGA 1151 Motherboards, you'll have to do a BIOS/Firmware update to make it compatible with this processor (or so I've read on the internet). I went for the Z390 chipset, which works with this processor. My IT professional answer: However the best way to know for sure if your motherboard is compatible is to call the motherboard manufacturer and ask them =D
