The wireless HDMI includes an IR repeater that allows you to access all the functions of the cable box remotely. Depending on your cable company, you can order the same remote so that you can program it to turn the remote TV on/off and access the cable box.

The IT detector has on the TV end picks up the signals from the cable remote and sends them to the transmit end where the IR transmitter puts out a identical signal that drives the cable box. It makes the link operation invisible to the user so it’s like it’s all in the same room. The IR receiver and transmitter look similar so be sure to get the right one on the correct end. I used it to provide signals to a TV in another room and it worked just like the cable box was in the same room.
