HI. Yes you should be able to hook the smaller of the two boxes in this package, to your satellite receiver box. The larger of the two, the one with the antennas, will now go behind your TV, across the room. It just needs power, and an HDMI cable, to connect the larger box to the back of the TV, VIA one of its open HDMI ports. You will use the smaller box, powered by USB (which you may be able to just plug into an available USB on your satellite box) and this will act as a device that transmits the signal coming from your satellite box. With the smaller of the two boxes no connected to USB and HDMI on the TV across the room, you now have a wireless-ly transmitted satellite box. Think of it like a relay system. The small box takes the signal, and relays it to the bigger box. The bigger box then puts that signal out. As long as its connected to a TV, the signal that its putting out, will be displayed. I use this for PC and a flat panel TV and it works great. Best of luck!

The purpose of the device is to transmit what’s being sent from the output of one HDMI device to the input on the TV. The living room TV in its new location would be connected to the receiver, and some other device, such as a computer or your satellite box, would be connected to the transmitter. But I don’t believe that you can transmit from one TV to another TV.
