Yes, you can extend your entire desktop to the TV, including task bar, start button, everything. When you are streamiing a movie etc., you can click on full screen and the entire TV screen is then filled with what you're streaming, but when you take the movie out of "full screen," you can again then see your entire desk top. Pretty nice device.
