I have several fringed rugs, and the Roomba does not get caught, or damage the fringe.

If the rug is heavier and the fringe isn't too long, Roomba will simply drive over the rug as it cleans. If the rug is lightweight, not secured to the floor or the fringes are very long and fine, Roomba will navigate around the fringe and may nudge your rug out of its way. If it's problematic, you may want to use a Virtual wall for the rug, or simply pick it up when running your robot.
