• Yes. The receptacle has a USB port and you could just plug in your phone through there.

• Yes you can. The little thing that goes into the hole thing to charge the device (can't remember the names) actually has a USB port on top of it so you can use your charger cord it it has the USB portion, plug it in and charge your phone.

• Yes, it has a USB port. I use a lightning cable to charge my iphone while I'm in the car. The lightning cable doesn't come with it tho.
