I don't think you can pair another sub, but you CAN pair speakers to it, all you gotta do is check on the site which speaker set is compatible with the soundbar

Please try again later.Ok found the answer to my own question, called JBL up and they said that the only one capable of adding more speakers is the 5.1 system that already has the 2 battery powered speakers. you cannot add the speakers to the 3.1 or 2.1 systems they arent programmed or equipped with the hardware to pair the additional speakers. So you either buy the 5.1 or be happy with the 3.1. they did mention trying to use a receiver and paring it all to the bar, but then mentioned if youre an "audiophile" that you wouldnt be happy with the addition of the paired speakers quality, as if the jbl is on par by its self, which no one that is an audiophile would get this to begin with. It lacks mids but when youre cranking it up the bass fills that void pretty well with the 10" woofer
