“Given that this system supports HDR passthrough do you need to do anything special to activate it? For example on my receiver I needed to put it in enhanced mode for it to pass HDR content. Is there anything similar for this system?”

The soundbar detects the quality of the video and switches automatically. Please make sure you have not turned off the auto volume enhance option on your tv
