Same here. When we hook it up to the PS4 it has good bass, but not great. When hooked up to the TV, you can hardly tell the subwoofer is on. There is minimal bass even after the firmware update and turning the bass to level 5. We have watched movies that had good bass in them and still the subwoofer isn't nearly as good as the reviews. We checked the settings on our Samsung TV, reset the soundbar, repaired the sub, replaced the HDMI cable, hooked it up with optical cable, moved the sub around etc...and still VERY underwhelming bass.

I purchased the jbl 5.1 soundbar thinking it was going to be an upgrade to my jbl 3.1 and im very disappointed. my jbl 3.1 bass is way stronger up to 30 and also when in sport mode with surround on its 2x louder then the 5.1 soundbar. very dissapointed with a sounder that states it has more power then there discontinued jbl 3.1 soundbar which I would purchase again well im just going to return the jbl 5.1 to best buy.

I bought the 5.1 expecting the same — especially because a lot of the reviews referenced the 10" subwoofer. NOT THE CASE. This 5.1 is super treble-heavy before the volume can even get loud enough for the bass to come close to the 3.1. Pretty disappointing. I just spend 2 hours online trying to see if I can tweak the setup. No luck. The remote barely offers any options - whereas the 3.1 remote had a variety of great settings to tweak the bass, sound styles from music to sports to movies, etc. NONE with 5.1. Bummer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see a lot of people agree with you but I can not. If you didn’t know location is key for subwoofers. Corners are generally best. Experiment with different locations. I have my sub on lvl 2 and it over powers the bar!
