“Is the microphone adequate for letting the other side of the call hear clearly when they are on speaker on their phone? How is it especially when using Duo or Facetime? We experience difficulty with hearing from the phone on the other end of the call.”

you can use the speaker and it sounds clear, just keep in mind for privacy because its on speaker all the time :-) Haven't tried it on FaceTime.

Now that Speaker is enabled for the Call Audio Routing, all calls that you make and receive will be placed on speakerphone, including Duo or Facetime calls.

My carrier is Verizon. I also have no problems when just using it as a speaker phone. I assume it will work just as fine on an iPhone.
