The major differences in both is that the jbuds icon (gold) have longer battery life on single use (charging case remains the same) and have the ability to connect both jbuds separately and use individually

With the gold ones, you can just tap on the earbud to adjust volume and tracks and such. With the basic pair you physically have to press the button to do all that.
