“Just got a new Joby grip tight with stand and I I can't get the knob which opens to hold the Iphone to unscrew - seems stuck from the factory - any way to loosen that up? I hate to return it after waiting so long”

The plates have rubber strips on the backside of plates. Turn screw fully counter clockwise till it stops. Jiggle adjustable plate with care. They are probably just stuck from being pressed together by the turn screw. The adjustable plates are precision fitting. Once you get the plates loose to adjust, it will make sense how to fit your phone in. It’s precision so try not to be rough with it.

Please try again later.I had the same issue with first few attempts, try not to apply force and delicately open where phone will sit. and set the screw loose, meaning it should not tightened at all. Tighten it post fitting the phone. I got this 3 weeks back and this is one of the best money spent.
