Yes, you do, but they also give other option do be able to play; like using your phone or using the hand held stick ( I can't think of the names).

Hey You need either the camera, or the motion control or use a phone. However the phone option isn’t great since you have to hold it all the time and if you move out of the app, the game stops working until you launch and pair it again
