• You only need as many controllers as people who will play. When playing the game it senses the movement of the joy con controller while you dance.

• You would need one Joy-Con, or one smartphone with the Just Dance Controller app installed, per person. Both options use motion controls to detect and track your movements.

• 1-4 players. The sensors in the controller knows your movement. But it only really calculates your hand motions. No way of knowing if you placed your feet/body in the right position in my opinion.
