“There is a filter and long plastic thing where do they go and what are they for”

• The filter and handle go in the water tank and filter the water before it goes into the chamber to be heated. If you use filtered water, the filter is not necessary. Btw, distilled water is NOT recommended for the the taste and can damage the machine over time.

• The filter goes in the plastic and it then is placed over the water outlet on the bottom of the water tank. It's the filter & holder for the water supply/inlet
