“I just got my KitchenAid KCO253CU toaster oven today. When I turned it on, there was a lot of smoke coming out from the left side of the oven. The top of the oven got extremely hot, and the glass got really hot too. Is this a defect unit?”

I don't think our oven smoked any but did give off odor when first turned on. The top gets hot, but I don't think extremely hot. I'll pay more attention next time we use it. Sorry not more help.
