“Is this mixer really noisy or did I get a defective one? it kind of sounds like 2 different sounds. I have a smaller one and is not this loud. I think it's defective”

The operating sound of the bowl lift stand mixer will be different in tonality and slightly higher in decibels than the operating sound associated with the 4.5- or 5-qt. tilt-head stand mixer models. The internal all metal gearing system assembled in the bowl lift model does make the mixer sound different than the smaller models.
