If you enter the model number for the Best Buy mixers into the Kitchen Aid website search box, it doesn't recognize it. That tells me that the Best Buy model is only available from Best Buy. Kitchen Aid may build it, but it is a special model only available at Best Buy. This is not unusual. Many major retailers get manufacturers to produce items specific for them. It's one way the retailer can say they have the lowest price ('cause no one else sells that model!)
