Actually a 2x4 stud is 3.5" and residential drywall on walls is 1/2" and maybe 5/8" sometimes, so that is only 4" - 4 1/8"total. I am also concerned with buying these for the location I need them as it is a 2x4 stud wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remember a 2x4 is not 4" as somebody said it is 3.5 " and drywall is usually around 1/2" also drywall crumbles when subjected to viberation.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Considering a 2x4, and a two sided drywall. 4+.75 + .75 = 5.5 It would be close, but doable. I wouldn't prefer that method though personally
