I have Reference Series as well and added these ceiling speakers for movie effects and depth. I have a Yamaha 100 watt per channel amp and have had no issues with the ceiling speakers, even at higher volumes and power levels. As all Klipsch are well made and quality speakers , I would say you would not have any problems.

I have a Yamaha receiver TSR700, which is about 100 watts, so I had the same concern about blowing out these Klipsch, which say only 35 watts on the speakers themselves. Best Buy advertises 140 watts, which is why I ordered these, but nowhere on the box or speaker does it say 140 watts!! (Best Buy is notorious for listing incorrect specs so never trust Best Buy specs.) I asked a senior tech support agent at Yamaha, and he recommended that all speakers connected to the avr be able to handle 100W. Regardless of the brand of your avr, I imagine the avr's tech support would say the same thing. Therefore, I'm returning these Klipsch.
