Wow! I personally think that Klipsch makes the best subs because the brand is already noted for good bass response speakers. SVS speakers however might be less costly as I recall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your question is fair, but difficult to answer fairly. Klipsch and Crutchfield both hold their reputations by producing great products. I don't know that I would mix subs for enhancement, unless you are adding a different type of sub with intentions. Also, wattage is does not out weigh a speakers efficiency and you wont get that rating with a sub, that I am aware of. If you have the svs sb1000 and want to double up, stick with your Crutchfield. If you just heard the svs sv1000 and liked it, keep an open mind when comparing subs. Room size, speaker placement, the use and intentions of the sub, ect. This is a great sub, but I wont go as far as to say one is better than the other. The specs are closely paired. The svs sb1000 has a little bit more wattage than the Klipsch reference 12 400W at peak, might mean a more powerful sub, might not. Also, in all fairness, it has been my experience that just because a speaker has better wattage and or efficiency does not mean it will sound better than one close in specs. I have heard ALOT of subs, but not the one in question. Pound for pound, I would be comfortable saying Klipsch and Crutchfield both make great subs. I have heard smaller and less powerful subs out perform larger and more powerful subs in a certain Hz range, then the tables turn with the same speakers in a different Hz range. In the end, between the two, your ears will tell you if you are liking one over the other with your intentions in mind. There are too many factors that play a part to say one is better than the other with close spec high end subs.
