“Is it safe to use one of the pre output subwoofer amp receiver to connect the left/right subwoofer by using Y splitter Jack or I need to use the RCA video output instead”

All it takes is one connection. No "Y" connection required. Most receivers advise connecting subwoofer to the Left channel (Subwoofer Output). If you are worried about loss of both channels, check your receiver owners manual to determine which subwoofer output to connect.
