Excellent Sub for small / mid sized sounds systems
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I bought this sub to replace a 10-inch, 100 watt Polk sub and noticed a difference immediately! The bass absolutely filled the room, without sounding muddy or boomy, and did not lack for volume. Long story short, if you're thinking about getting this sub to listen to music or watch movies in a small-to-medium sized room then you will not be disappointed. I mainly use my system for watching movies so I ran it through a barrage of demos. One scene in particular really demonstrated the versatility of this sub; Batman vs. Bane in the sewer from "The Dark Knight Rises". This might not be the first scene that comes to mind when demoing a sub but trust me, it is perfect for testing precision and nuance; the subtle, constant rumble of water in the background; the deep, padded thump of punches traded by the characters; the imposing echo of Bane's footsteps against the metal grate; and finally the thunderous boom when he blows the explosive charges and rubble comes crashing down around our hero. This sub proved that it could handle more than just being low and loud. Demos continued: Mad Mad: Fury Road, the opening of Bumblebee, Kong: Skull Island, Ghost in the Shell, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan, Master and Commander, the list goes on and on and it performed stellar on all of them. The only time the limits of this sub seemed to catch up to it was the opening rumbles of Blade Runner: 2049, a formidable demo indeed. And that's not to say that the low end or volume was an issue but there was quite a bit of reverberation from the sub itself, which can be a bit distracting. Even then, it may have just been the structural integrity of my basement failing and not the speaker itself. So to reiterate, this is a beast of sub that is 100% worth the money (especially if you can get it on sale).

Q: QuestionIs the Klipsch R100SW subwoofer compatible with an Yamaha HTR-5590 AV RECEIVER.
Asked by Mark.
- A:Answer I also have a different Yamaha receiver. The 5590 is listed as having pre-amp level sub outputs, so it should be compatible with the Klipsch. The only inputs to the Klipsch is a pair of RCA R/L jacks and it looks like your HTR-5590 has only a single RCA output for the subwoofer. If so, I believe you will need an RCA cable with a splitter - single RCA plug at one end and two RCA plugs at the other.

Q: QuestionI have a Yamaha - 400W 5.1-Ch. 4K HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver -. What cables would I need to hook this up ?
Asked by scotnjulie.
- A:Answer If your receiver have a single sub pre amp out you'd connect to the L/LFE input on the sub. There are 2 rca style inputs on the sub but the top plug per the manual is the L/LFE input if you only have the 1 pre amp out on your receiver. if you have dual pre amp outs on your receiver you'd connect both.
