I also have a different Yamaha receiver. The 5590 is listed as having pre-amp level sub outputs, so it should be compatible with the Klipsch. The only inputs to the Klipsch is a pair of RCA R/L jacks and it looks like your HTR-5590 has only a single RCA output for the subwoofer. If so, I believe you will need an RCA cable with a splitter - single RCA plug at one end and two RCA plugs at the other.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Yamaha Receiver, just not your model. My Klipsch R-100SW pairs excellent wit it and I'm sure that it will work very well with your Receiver. You won't be disappointed. If your room is large in size, you might want to consider the R-120SW.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If the Yamaha receiver has RCA or LFE outputs, then yes. This subwoofer only needs an input signal. It has a built in amplifier, so there is no need for a boosted signal from the receiver. Just a basic RCA or LFE cable will do.
