• The fan is only for turning the fan off after a set time. It is probably most useful for use while you sleep, when your body wouldn't produce as much unneeded heat as when you are awake, or the ambient temperature would go down as the environment cools. Thus, the fan would turn off to save electricity and avoid over-cooling.

• Yes the fan has a timer that You can set for about 3 different time settings, from 15min -30min to 60min? as far as I remember
