What does the ION actually do? null

The Ion Air feels cooler. If you have your AC on in your home and if you have the ion on, on the fan the air that comes out of the fan is cooler. I live in Georgia and it gets hot here. Sometimes the air is so cool from the fan I have to turn it off.
