That will depend on your needs. Any of these options can increase the storage of the device externally. If you are storing data like pictures/videos/docs a memory card or flash drive should suffice. If you are wanting to install additional APPS or software an external SSD would give you the best performance.

Us the 'Files' icon at the bottom of the screen to select which storage you want to access from several sources: SD card, thumb drive, Google Drive, or local 'MyDrive'. That's it. Very seamless.
