• Hi, geri. No, you do not, as this model by default will power on or wake from sleep when opening the laptop. Should you decide to disable this feature, you can do so in the settings of the Lenovo Vantage application on your Flex 5i.

• The default on laptops is generally to startup/wake when the lid is opened and to turn off/sleep when it is closed. Either or both can be overridden/disabled using the Power options.
