Hey, This IdeaCentre All-In-One does need constant power to run. We understand your desire to have cable management at front of mind. The great thing is that since this model ships with a wireless keyboard and mouse in the box, the only cable you need coming out of the computer is the power adapter to go from the wall to the AIO.
