Hey, Ryan. Based off user reviews for the Legion Pro 5i, heat has been easily managed by the Pro 5i's myriad of cooling system features and software. Also, yes, keyboard backlighting can be a solid color or a range of colors depending on settings made in the Lenovo Vantage app under Legion Spectrum.
