You have to check the Lenovo Pen Settings app to see the battery level. Otherwise, there's no real indication on the pen itself AFAIK.

From completely depleted to fully charged using the included power adapter for the Yoga 9i, it should charge in about an hour. You can check the charge level in the Lenovo Pen Settings app, or you could enable pen battery percentage to be shown in the taskbar via the Pen Settings app.
